Last up in our spotlight on the surfaces in the Dina Wakley Media Journal is burlap.
Don't let the burlap intimidate or confuse you. Use your creativity! Or, just think if it like bumpy paper and do what you'd normally do to it. Can you paint it? Sure. Draw on it? Yep. Sew? Absolutely. Build collages? Heck yeah!
Here are some ways I have used it in my work so far:
I like to cut a decorative edge in it to make a cool page divider:
On the page below, I cut a frame in the burlap page. Then I took the bit I cut out and used it to make a pocket for a tag (on the left side).
One of my FAVE things to do with the burlap is to treat it like a bulletin board. I pin, sew, or staple tags or other bits and bobs to it. If you don't have Tim's Idea-ology Tiny Attacher, you NEEEED it. I use mine all the time to staple things to the burlap.
I adore the burlap and it adds such a great visual and textural element to the journal.
How are YOU going to use the burlap pages? Can't wait to see!
Love!

Love all the suggestions! This journal is so gorgeous I feel it needs a specific and important focus. I'll be pondering on that for a little bit of a while.
