Update 9/19/2010--Thanks for all the interest, I'm overwhelmed (and slightly worried since there's only room for about 12 about the store...eeks!). I'll set up a date & let you all know. This will be fun!

I've been toying around with this idea for-evah...and finally ready to get it going. Kathie from The Creative Quest said that we can meet at her store (woo hoo!!). So...is anyone interested in being part of a mixed-media group? We could meet once a month, create art, support each other, and just plain ole have fun. Think of it as a gathering for kindred art spirits.
If you're interested, email me! I'll start a mailing list & we'll get our first couple of meetings scheduled.
And, because every post needs a picture, here's an old piece...I think I gave this away, I don't have it any more.

Oh, how I wish I lived in Arizona.... sounds like exactly the kind of group I'd love to be part of... hope you have LOTS of fun... :(

i am now seriously considering moving across the country just to get in on this!!! :)
(ok, that might be slightly drastic...but i will definitely tune in to see the fruits of your group's labors!) ♥

I would LOVE to be a part of this! If it's during a time I'm free (i.e. child-free), I'm so in. I really would like to make some "art" friends!

aaahhh, I so wish I lived nearby. I would love to be part of a mixed media group! Hmm... maybe there is enough of us "considering" moving closer that we should start an online mixed media group too... lol!

Sadly, not local to you. But wanted to say that we do this in our town, and it's great. We started as an "altered books" group but branched out into general mixed media. Interestingly, we've recently returned to the altered books idea, since we're doing a round-robin. Definitely worth the effort to set up! Good luck.

I wish I were on your side of the ocean, close to your living place. I've just seen your Tim Holtz September projects in the previous post. The way you give a different turn to Tim Holtz products is simply amazing. I lovooove your tags.

Dina, am local & interested. Like most, I have a tight schedule and since store is closed on Sundays, that pretty much leaves only Thursdays open. If that day of the week is a consideration then please let me know. Tina in Tempe

Thank you for posting a photo of your paint splattered sewing machine! It validates and shares a similar look with my paint splattered studio floor, tables, sink, etc.etc. It's so great to realize there's other artist's who work in a "wet" painterly studio.
