Jenni's release is chock-full of wonderful things...I actually gasped out loud when I saw the little chipboard that coordinates with the butterfly & pennant stickers! I really enjoyed playing with her new daubers & ink pads, too. The colors coordinate perfectly with JBS products. Try using the ink or paint over the JBS Coredinations cardstock...the textures really pop!
Hambly always has trend-setting, unique products. This release has to be one of my favorites. It's very usable, very fun!
Made this as a class sample, then changed my mind about it...it was a fun project, though!

Made this little travel journal with July's JBS project kit. It's one of those "impulse" projects where I don't cut everything exactly or make sure everything is perfect. In fact, I just grabbed ephemera from our Italy trip and stapled it in. The result is a very organic, scrappy journal full of fun memories.
I'm teaching an "Inky Fingers" class (different ways to use ink in your scrapbooks) at the Get It Scrapped weekend retreat in Las Vegas, September 23rd - 26th. Several of the GIS teachers are doing classes as well...plus there are crops and other fun stuff planned! Hope you can join us!

Lately I've been focusing on the organic nature of journaling, of trying not to over-think every page. Of being in the moment and being at peace with it.
This page is just Tim Holtz Adirondack Color Wash ink and water-based Poster Paint Sharpie pens (in black & white).

I had this crazy page going...paint, tissue, ink....everything I did made it worse. I loved the texture of it, though. Because the background was so strong, I knew I needed strong elements to go on top--something that would provide contrast and not get swallowed up in the texture and color.
I went through my "cast-off" box...you know, the box in which I throw half-done projects, experiments, inky tags, extras, etc. I found a messy piece I did about 18 months ago, I tore it up, and it's perfect on top of the textured background!
Sometimes you just have to let serendipity happen in art.
It was 116 F today.
Misery.
I nursed my migraine with some caffeine, then took to my art journal just to spray & play.
Lots to do & lots due, but it's fun to play a bit!
Sometimes I like the random blots & just want to leave them be.

Did a bit of journaling...actually just finished this page that was already started. The text is about how I am learning to say no and stand up for myself (hard to do for us peacemaker types).
I know I've been a bit AWOL...this summer has been busy and I haven't been home much. My studio is calling my name, though...can't wait to get home and play. I've got some awesome ideas running through my head!

The fabulous 4...we were all SO glad we sat next to each other. These women made Ranger U so fun. It was a pleasure to spend 3 days with them!
The tag book (62 tags total) that we made throughout the weekend.
They let me graduate despite my Melting Pot issues...ha. I am now a "Certified Ranger Instructor."
