Took this pic a few weeks ago...love my Napoleon Dynamite calendar that a very good friend gave me for Christmas (gosh, lucky!!!). I used a page of the calendar on layout...so flippin sweet.
THANK YOU to everyone who left such nice comments about my layout in CK! I appreciate it so much. I got my mag in the mail and my kids were duly impressed that my name was in a magazine. Then I read Lisa B's letter from the editor and about fainted...
Check out page 123 of Creating Keepsake's Top Ten issue (in stores now and slowly trickling out to subscribers)...
The guy in that pic is my brother. And why is my brother in CK? Because that's my scrapbook page! Wheeeeee! I haven't seen the mag in person yet (a friend who has it scanned it for me), but I'm thrilled and anxious to see it. The article is called, "Top Ten Newly Discovered Scrapbookers." This calls for a gluttony of peanut m&ms!
So yesterday Cole looks at me with those big, big brown eyes and says remember you said I can have a dog when I'm a teenager, and I said yes but inside I said oh crapezoid how do i get out of this and I wonder if I'll be able to distract him with a car or a laptop or something teenagers dig mucho but he is one stubborn nino and he remembers that 2 years ago I said he could have a dog when he turned 16 and the guilt rages but the fact of the matter is I'm a lousy housekeeper and I can barely keep my kids washed and fed and a dog, ugh, a dog would just be so tempting to ignore and I just can't take the poop and frankly a dog deserves a good owner, not me and today I woke up tired from another night of vivid dreaming and I've had way too much soda and the diuretic effect has kept me home all day and I am just so blobby and sad for no good reason so that is today, it is what it is.
This week sucked. There's no other word for it. Went to the doc on Wednesday and got shots in my back and hip...have to go back today for more. But the shots have helped. I am not in utter agony like I was earlier this week. I have scoliosis in my lower back and it is inflamed, and my pelvis is crooked b/c I have one leg shorter than the other. So now I need to wear an orthotic for the rest of my life. It will look real snappy taped into my flip-flops, but I don't care. I'll do anything to make this pain go away.
I scrapped laying down in my bed this week because I had ScrapGal assignments due! That's why the letters are crooked on the pages...I couldn't really see what the heck I was doing.
